The Austin College women’s basketball team battled back from an eight-point, fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime but the ’Roos would fall to Texas Lutheran University 75-68 in the extra frame on Friday night.

The Bulldogs missed a pair of free throws, giving Austin College (12-5, 4-2) the last chance at a win in regulation, but the ‘Roos missed a pair of opportunities in the final seconds to send the game into overtime.

Kendall Heitmeier scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Bryce Frank added 15 points and eight boards to pace the ‘Roos. Ann Savage finished with 12 points and five assists, and Caitlyn Collins came off the bench to chip in 10 points in the loss.

Savannah Hight led all scorers with 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who owned a 22-6 edge in points off of turnovers and a 16-1 advantage in second chance points for the game.
