McKINNEY — Lourden Bell’s second-half goal was the only scoring for the Lady Bearcats in a rainy non-district loss to former district rival McKinney.
McKinney scored its first goal three minutes in, then added a second goal a couple of minutes later. The Lady Cats eventually settled in but gave up two more goals from distance to trail 4-0 at the half.
The Lady Cats (2-3) had better offensive luck in the second half as Bell scored on a volley and hit the post five minutes later, and Taylor Wuestenfeld nearly connected with Veronica Sosa on a ball crossing the goal mouth.
The Lady Cats will host North Lamar next Tuesday in their final pre-district game.
