DURANT — Southeastern held off a late charge by Northwestern Oklahoma State and pulled away with a 78-68 victory in its first home game of the new year in Bloomer Sullivan Arena on Saturday afternoon.
SE (7-5, 5-3) put four players in double figures, led by Katie Webb’s second 20-point effort of the season as she finished the contest with 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting.
Sa’Liesha Hunter added an 18-point effort on 6-of-8 shooting with a pair of 3s, while Tracy Johnson came off the bench with an explosive 17 points in 18 minutes, hitting 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-7 from behind the arc.
Olivia Potter added a pair of 3s and finished the contest with 10 points.
In Saturday men’s action, a trio of double-digit scorers helped power a rally over the final 10 minutes of the contest which helped the Savage Storm rally from nine down to pick up a 62-57 victory.
Jett Jobe turned in a team-high 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting with three 3s, while Anton Cook added 14 points and Kevin Buckingham turned in 13 to power the Storm (6-8, 2-6).
The Storm will host rival East Central for a doubleheader at 5:30 p.m. tonight.
