ALEDO — Two quick goals before the end of the first half were too much for Sherman to overcome as the Lady Cats fell to Midlothian, 3-0, in the fourth-place game of the Aledo Moritz Tournament on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Cats controlled the run of play the first part of the first half, but allowed goals a minute apart right before intermission. Midlothian added a third goal on a penalty kick resulting from a handball.
On Friday, Bailey Tillotson headed in a corner kick in the 20th minute as the Lady Cats took a 2-0 win over Ennis. With starting keeper Andrea Orellana out with a stomach bug, Brittny Thomas stepped in and posted a shutout. The second goal was an own goal when D’Ira Woods carried the ball all the way up field from the back and her pass at the top of the box to Tillotson was deflected in by an Ennis defender.
The Lady Cats (2-2) travel to former district rival McKinney High for a non-district game Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
