DURANT —The Southeastern Oklahoma State baseball team opens the 2017 season picked sixth in the Great American Conference preseason poll as selected by the league’s coaches.

The Savage Storm posted a fourth-place finish a season ago with a 29-25 record overall and a 21-12 GAC mark.

Southeastern took the No. 3 seed in the league’s postseason tournament thanks to Oklahoma Baptist not being eligible to participate, knocking off rival East Central in a best-of-3 series to reach the final four.

Oklahoma Baptist enters as the favorite with 112 points and four first-place votes.

Arkansas-Monticello and Southwestern Oklahoma State are tied for second with 101 points with UAM earning three first-place votes.
