This week, the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office announced that several individuals have been indicted by a local grand jury. Among those individuals was a 32-year-old man from Sherman who has been indicted on 37 charges related to child pornography and tampering with evidence.

Zachary Allen Keaton, 32, of Sherman was indicted on 27 counts of possession of child pornography less than 50 depictions or videos, eight counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair.

Grand jurors look at cases presented by the District Attorney’s Office to see if there is enough probable cause to bring a case to trial. If grand jurors decide there is a sufficient amount of evidence to move the case forward to court, the person is indicted. If jurors decide there is not enough evidence to move forward, the person is no billed or not indicted.

Indictments are formal charges and are not an indication of guilt.
