Sherman ISD is committed to increasing access to nutritious meals when school is not in session.
The summer meals program provides healthy, no-cost meals over the summer break to students and families who may rely on school meals during the academic year. There are no eligibility requirements to participate. Any child 0-18 years old or any enrolled student up to 21 years old can receive free meals. Meals must be consumed on site.
“Ensuring consistent access to nutritious meals is a vital part of supporting student well-being,” said Sherman ISD Student Nutrition Director Robert Rushing. “Our team is proud to provide this service during the summer as part of our continued commitment to the health and success of all students.”
Any family visiting a Sherman ISD campus while summer school is in session must enter through a secure front entrance and check-in as a campus visitor prior to proceeding to the cafeteria to receive free meals. Questions should be directed to Sherman ISD Student Nutrition at (903) 891-6426.
