Kelsey Lillis had 16 kills and five blocks and Caroline LeCrone added nine kills, three blocks, 13 digs and four aces as the Lady Bearcats upset McKinney North, 21-25, 32-30, 25-23, 25-21, to stay in the chase for a District 13-4A postseason spot.

The Lady Cats closed within a game of Wylie East and McKinney North, which are now tied for third place with two matches remaining, and kept open the possibility of a play-in scenario involving either or both teams next week.

Players and fans wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and dedicated the game to Kim Bell, the mother of a Sherman freshman player, who is battling breast cancer.

Sami Powers had five kills, a block, 35 assists and eight digs; and Jayzhia Softly recorded eight kills, two blocks and three aces for the Lady Cats (21-13, 6-6). Other contributors included Madison Winslett with four kills and 17 digs; Kelsey Jarvis, 37 digs; Mary Kate Motley, 37 assists; and Paige Aleman, 17 digs.

The Lady Cats will host district champion Lovejoy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday in their final home match of the season. Seniors Softly, Lillis, Jarvis and Powers will be honored.

Wylie East def. Denison 3-0

WYLIE — Jamiah Ballard had six kills and three digs for Denison but Wylie East defeated the Lady Yellow Jackets, 25-8, 25-23, 25-20.

Katie Mithlo put down four kills, Dee Harris chipped in three kills, Melanie Garcia finished with eight assists and six kills, Sara Shumaker handed out seven assists and Harley Goodin collected six digs for Denison (7-28, 1-11), which hosts Wylie on Friday.

District 12-3A Melissa def. Princeton 3-1

PRINCETON — Connar Newberry had 16 kills and eight digs as Melissa clinched at least a share of the district title with a 23-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 victory against Princeton.

Whitney Taylor added 12 kills and three blocks, Madison Rose chipped in nine kills and six digs, Amber Melcher finished with 21 assists, seven kills and 10 digs, Riley Duzenack had five kills, 29 assists and nine digs, Ashley Henger collected 24 digs and Amanda Kocsis totaled 11 digs for Melissa (25-4, 7-0), which can win the 12-3A title outright when it hosts second-place Bonham on Friday.

Bonham def. Community 3-1

BONHAM — Erika Porter had 25 kills, seven digs and two blocks and Madeline Dolberry added 23 kills, six blocks, five digs and three aces as Bonham defeated Community, 26-24, 25-16, 25-27, 25-15, in district play.

Kenzie Rattan handed out 62 assists for the Lady Warriors (32-9, 5-1), who have a chance to share the district title with a win at first-place Melissa on Friday. Kala Simpson totaled 11 digs, eight kills and two aces, while Samantha Bennett had 10 digs and six kills for Bonham, which guaranteed at least second place by beating third-place Community (17-12, 3-4).

District 11-2A Howe def. Pottsboro 3-2

POTTSBORO — Aurian James had seven kills, 31 assists and 20 digs as Howe defeated Pottsboro, 18-25, 25-23, 25-10, 25-17, 15-5, to move into sole possession of the last playoff spot with two matches remaining.

Riley Harvey added 14 kills and 16 digs, Morgan Carney and Tiffany Lallier each put down seven kills, Hailey DeFrange finished with five kills and five digs, CC Counts totaled 17 digs and Tori Abner collected 12 digs for Howe.

Tatum Marburger had 15 kills and 13 digs, Darby Wallace added seven kills and seven blocks, Lindsey Evans handed out 17 assists, Bailey Wilson finished with 14 assists and 12 digs, Ansleigh Oakley collected 16 digs and Kelli Frye and Delaney Slate totaled nine digs apiece for Pottsboro (20-10, 9-3).

Whitesboro def. Whitewright 3-1

WHITESBORO — Kristen Phelps had 10 kills, six digs and two blocks as Whitesboro defeated Whitewright, 21-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-18.

Kylin Lemons added seven kills and 10 digs, Kacie Jones put down seven kills, Kristen McCanlies finished with six kills, 17 assists and six digs, Kerigan McCanlies chipped in six kills, three assists and 10 digs, Casey Lang totaled 11 assists and six digs, Terilyn Bufkin collected nine digs for Whitesboro, which plays at Howe on Friday.

Sydney Brummett had 24 digs and nine kills, Anna Shope handed out 26 assists with three kills, Shelby Poe totaled 13 kills and 10 digs, Hatty Shope chipped in five digs and four assists and Alyssa Benjamin added 13 digs for Whitewright (13-20, 5-7).

Bells def. Tom Bean 3-0

TOM BEAN — Carlee Shelby had nine kills and 10 digs as Bells defeated Tom Bean, 25-8, 25-11, 25-13.

Katie Shults added five kills and four blocks, Emily Fagan finished with 11 assists and six digs, Macy Sanders chipped in four aces and 17 digs and Bailey Wornhor collected seven digs for Bells (23-10, 7-5), which can clinch a playoff spot with a victory against S&S on Friday.

District 12-2A Pilot Point def. Gunter 3-1

GUNTER — Mikayla Watson had 20 kills and 19 digs for Gunter but Pilot Point forced a second-place tie alongside the Lady Tigers with a 25-14, 25-21, 14-25, 25-23 victory.

Katey Campbell added 11 kills and 10 digs, Breanna Adkins chipped in 11 assists and seven digs, Lana Green finished with 12 assists and 10 digs, Kaylee Schmitz handed out six assists and Mackenzie Mazerolle collected 10 digs for Gunter (21-8, 7-3).

District 11-A Collinsville def. Saint Jo 3-0

SAINT JO — Brooke Johnson had 18 kills, four blocks, 44 digs as Collinsville defeated Saint Jo, 25-14, 25-22, 25-22.

Cally Johnson added 13 kills and 34 digs, Holly Theall chipped in two kills, 15 assists, 2 aces, 15 digs, Morgan Irelan chipped in 10 assists and 17 digs, Callie Woolsey collected 15 digs, Talyn Price finished with three blocks and eight digs and Emily Dishman totaled nine digs for Collinsville (17-14, 9-3).

District 17-A Dodd City def. Trenton 3-0

TRENTON — Katelynn Woodlee had seven kills and Keeshia Thompson put down five kills as Dodd City defeated Trenton, 25-15, 25-6, 25-12, to close out district play.

Fallon Hilliard had four kills for the Lady Hornets (17-15, 7-3), who will face Roxton in a play-in to decide the second and third-place berths. A date, site and time will be determined on Wednesday.

Roxton def. Savoy 3-1

SAVOY — Hanna White and Lindsey Stone each had seven kills for Savoy but Roxton defeated the Lady Cardinals, 25-18, 17-25, 25-16, 31-29, in the final district match of the season.

Dakota Pope added five kills and 26 digs, Jerica Isom chipped in five kills, two aces and 20 digs, Christina Francis totaled four kills, two aces and 26 digs, Kaitlyn Knight finished with 11 digs, Rhianne Sweet collected 10 digs and Melissa Vance had nine digs for Savoy.
