Authorities say they have identified a suspect in connection with two vehicle burglaries last week and a stolen car that was found wrecked near Van Alstyne. The man is being sought for allegedly breaking into vehicles on the 2900 block of Sydney Drive and the 1600 block of South Lillies Lane, and for stealing a car from the 2900 block of Stafford Drive.
Criminal mischief - An unknown party used a BB or pellet gun to shoot-out the windows of three vehicles on the 400 and 500 blocks of West Owings and the 300 block of North Scullin sometime after midnight on Oct. 11. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Denison PD.
Theft - A $4,000 trailer was stolen from a house on the 500 block of West Gundy at 4:15 a.m. on Oct 11. The trailer is described as a tandem axle, bumper pull trailer with a steel floor, pull out ramps in the rear and a winch mounted on the front.
Assault - A 28-year-old man from the 1700 block of East Dugan Street with a history of family violence was arrested at 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 14 for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. Police say the woman showed signs of the assault. The man was charged with assault and drug charges after police found a small bag of marijuana while performing a search.
Potpourri - Police responded to the 900 block of North Woods Street in the 11 o’clock hour of Oct. 14, where they found a 32-year-old woman in the street. After booking the woman for public intoxication, officers say they found marijuana on her person. The police report said a third charge was added after the woman assaulted an officer.
