How NCAA Division I college football players with ties to Texomaland fared in this past weekend’s games:

Jordan Taylor had three touchdowns on four catches and 185 yards (third most in school history) in Rice’s 45-7 win over UTEP on Saturday. The former Yellow Jacket helped Rice (6-2) become bowl-eligible in consecutive seasons for just the second time in school history.

Caleb Lavey continued his strong season with 10 tackles as Oklahoma State romped Iowa State, 58-27, on Saturday.

Freshman Tyrone Swoopes made his NCAA debut in the later stages of Texas’ 30-7 win over TCU on Saturday. Swoopes rushed the ball three times for a total net of minus-2 yards. TCU’s Waymon James rushed for seven yards on 3 attempts in the loss.

Travis Labhart had 29 yards on five receptions in Texas A&M’s 56-24 win over Vanderbilt.

Ryan Reid had two tackles and forced fumble as Baylor handled Kansas 59-14. Denison’s Jimmay Mundine had four receptions for 36 yards in the losing cause.

Zac Whitfield had three solo tackles as the Mean Green won their third consecutive game, 55-14 over Southern Miss.
