ROY DUKE MYATT

1943-2023

Roy Duke Myatt, 79, of Sherman passed away peacefully and joined his loving wife on January 31, 2023. Roy was born April 11, 1943, in Littlefield, Texas to George and Mary Myatt. His family moved to Sherman in 1948 where he attended school and graduated from Sherman High. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1961 and was deployed to Taiwan where he did Radio Control, translating Chinese until he was honorably discharged in 1965. He met and married the love of his life, Gloria Sasser in 1967 and they were happily married until her passing in 2021. Roy retired from IBM as a Computer Technician after 37 years of service; he then worked at Target as a Stocker for 10 years before completely retiring.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, George Myatt and Mary Myatt Barker, his loving wife, Gloria Myatt, son, Daryl Lee Myatt, and brothers, Bobby Neal, Richard, and George Wayne Myatt.

Roy is survived by his son, Sean Everett Myatt, stepdaughter, Nette Pinckney, grandson, Scott Norris, granddaughters, Taylor Harding (Clint), Jordan Dobbins, Destiny Myatt, Amber Myatt, brothers, Earl Myatt (Helen) and Keith Myatt (Donna), sisters, Lela Luxen (John) and Jayne Smith (Donny), 7 great grandchildren whom he adored, and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

All who knew Roy knew him for his great sense of humor, caring heart, and hard work ethic. He will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him.

Family night will be held on Sunday, February 5th from 5-7 p.m. at Waldo Funeral Home located at 619 N Travis St Sherman, TX 75090. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev James Moore officiating and burial will immediately follow at Cedarlawn Cemetery located at 5805 Texoma Parkway Sherman, Texas 75090.
