Rosemary Jane Oswald, age 70, passed on to heaven peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, leaving a legacy of a life well lived.
Rosemary was born on December 2, 1951, in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Serafin and Cordelia Roybal. Rosemary was raised in Nambe, New Mexico where she cherished her time growing up with her siblings and many cousins. From an early age, the most important thing to Rosemary were the relationships she had with the people she loved. Rosemary graduated from Pojoaque High School and went on to earn two college degrees in clerical science and nursing. As a Registered Nurse, she was able to serve more than 30 years in a variety of specialty areas. She was regarded as an excellent nurse that genuinely cared for her patients like family. Raising her two sons and being a proud “Grammy” to 5 grandchildren always brought her joy. She loved retirement and traveling with her husband. Later in life, in Denison, Texas, she enjoyed volunteering with the Denison Service League at the “Bargain Box,” a local second hand clothing store, as well as serving at a local nonprofit medical clinic. She always found joy in generosity and helping people in need. Even in her last days, Rosemary would leave notes around the house reminding her to pray for those she loved.
Her father, Serafin Roybal, and her mother, Cordelia Roybal, preceded her in death.
Rosemary is survived by her husband of 48 years, Sam Oswald, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Summer Oswald, Philip and Kristen Oswald, five beloved grandchildren, Reese, Collin, Spencer, Nathan, and Mandy Oswald. Rosemary is also survived by her siblings Nancy Romero and spouse Robert Romero, Betty Romero and spouse Joe Romero, Serafin Roybal, Ken Roybal and spouse Doris, brothers-in-law Jack and Jim Oswald, and many other friends and family that she cherished.
Rosemary’s Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison, Texas. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. in the church parlor.
In her memory, memorials may be made to Cottonwood Creek Cancer Ministry by sending a check to Cottonwood Creek Church, 1015 State HWY 121, Allen, Texas 75013 and writing “Cancer Ministry” in the memo line.
