Following a long illness, Bob Stewart, age 85, of Sherman, Texas, passed away on Friday, May 20,2022. Bob was born on October 22, 1936 in Quitman, Texas to the late Rush and Emma Stewart. He attended school at Dorchester public schools and graduated from Sherman High School in 1955. He also drove a school bus while he attended school. Bob attended Texas Tech University and joined the Texas National Guard. He was called to active duty in the Army in 1962 where he served for 2 years. Bob was an avid farmer and rancher for many years until he began the agricultural line and hay belting business. Bob always had an entrepreneurial spirit about him. Over the years he spread his business acumen by hiring young Sherman High School students to teach them the trades.
Bob is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Shirley Ross Stewart and daughters, Lisa Russell and husband David; Jennifer Serber and husband Mike; Laurie Cybulski and husband Richard. Sisters include Barbara Welch and husband Robert; Emily Powell and husband William; sister-in-law Pat Stewart (late husband Stanley Stewart). Grandchildren include Ross Ivey and wife, Tracie; Mendy Ivey; Dalton Russell and wife, Megan; Max and Emma Serber; Alex Cybulski and wife Brittany; Halle Cybulski and Matthew Cybulski. Great Grandchildren include Amberlie and Raylan Ivey; Emmie Russell; Jaxon and Beckett Cybulski. Bob was also survived by nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James (Jimmy) Stewart and Stanley Stewart. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May
A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 27th at 3:00pm, located at West Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be available during the day on Thursday, May 26th for those who may want to show their respects.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes, Kidney or Heart Association in his name.
