Robbidean Carolyn Gruver (Robbie), age 81, of Plano, Tx, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, August 29, 2022. Robbie was born on April 15, 1941 in Sherman, TX to Robin F. (Kit) Taylor and Ruby (Fuller) Taylor. She was a graduate of Sherman High School where she was active as a majorette and participated in numerous school activities. She attended college at North Texas State University in Denton, TX. Robbie liked to travel and toured Europe extensively. She worked for Texas Power & Light until 1970. Robbie was deeply devoted to her church and worked tirelessly to develop programs and activities for the young people. She enjoyed being with the young people and thought of them as her kids. Robbie met a young fighter pilot from Perrin AFB, Major Richard E. Gruver, and they were married in 1970. Robbie and Dick moved to Plano, TX , where they raised their two sons, Justin Chad and Weston Blaine. She work with the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and then worked as the office manager for Gump Law firm until she retired. Robbie’s greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and being with her extended family. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Chad and wife Amanda Gruver of Melissa, TX and Weston Gruver of Plano TX. Grandchildren: Payton Gruver, McClaine and husband Brandon Culberson, Cayley Gruver, Hudson Gruver, TJ Giles & Cassie Giles. Her sister Lavon Taylor and her brother Rick and wife Ann Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Gruver and her parents, Kit and Ruby Taylor. Family visitation will be at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Services will be held Friday Sept 2, 2022 at Dannel Funeral Home at 11:00am with Reverend James Kilgore officiating. Interment will be at Akers Cemetery.
