SHERMAN — St. John CME Church family will host an appreciation service honoring their pastor, Rev. Rodney Patten, First Lady Qui, and their sons at 3 p.m. Sunday. The theme is "This is Our Season: For Favor and Grace."

SHERMAN — St. John CME Church family will host an appreciation service honoring their pastor, Rev. Rodney Patten, First Lady Qui, and their sons at 3 p.m. Sunday. The theme is "This is Our Season: For Favor and Grace."


Patten is an ordained elder in full connection in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and served as an associate pastor at Christian Chapel Temple of Faith CME in Dallas before becoming the pastor of St. John CME in Sherman.


Patten has been involved in ministry for 11 years and during this time has served as the head of the legal ministry for Christian Chapel, sat on the board of the official management team for Christian Chapel, lead the men’s ministry, and served with various others ministries under the leadership of the late Jerome E. McNeil Jr. Patten also serves as the regional convener of the ministry to men ministry for the Dallas/Ft. Worth region of the 8th Episcopal District.


Patten has been married to wife, Qui, for 16 years and they are the parents of three sons: Rodney, Quinton, and Alexander.


The speaker for the occasion is Rev. Fred Jones associate minister at Christian Chapel Temple of Faith in Dallas. The location of St. John CME Church is 300 East College St. in Sherman.
