Last week, the Grayson County Sheriff's Office posted an update on the $34 million county jail expansion. Sheriff Tony Bennie, Capt. Sarah Bigham and Capt. Brian Ford walked the site with contractors to preview the current state of the multi-year project."It may not look like much just yet, but soon this site will transform into a multi-floor facility adding 166 beds to our jail," the post said. "This project is a major step forward in meeting the needs of our growing community."Phase one is expected to take 18-20 months to complete. Phase 2 will start after that and is expected to take about 6-8 months. Phase three and four will come along after and the whole project will take about four years to complete."A big thank you to County Judge Bruce Dawsey and the **County Commissionerspast and present**for their part in getting this project moving," the post concluded. "And most importantly, thank you to the citizens who supported this expansion and for the partnership of Sherman, Texas - Classic Town.
