1952-2023

Paula Ann Russell Chilton, 70, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 20, 2023 in Corsicana, Texas. Paula was born on October 30, 1952, in Madill, Oklahoma to Cecil and Martha (Elkins) Russell. She attended school in McKinney, Texas. Paula married Larry Chilton March 7, 1969, and they established a home in Luella, Texas of which she lived for 47 years. Paula was a nurse’s assistant for many years providing care for others. She most enjoyed being around her family, being outside on her back porch watching the birds and all of nature, and painting. Paula had a special bond with her grandchildren and will be remembered for her kindness, giant heart and resiliency.

She was an angel who always put the needs of others before herself. Paula is survived by her sister, Geneva and husband Dana Burchett of Forney, Texas; brother, Clovis and wife Edwina Russell of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Larry and wife Barbara Russell of Graham, Texas; daughter, Crystal and husband Jason Cannon of Van Alstyne, Texas; son, Billy and wife Rachael Chilton of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Angela Knight of Corsicana, Texas; grandchildren Allen Knight of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Alyssa Knight of Stephenville, Texas; Madeleine Chilton and Lucas Chilton of McKinney, Texas; Presley Cannon and Parker Cannon of Van Alstyne, Texas; and one great grandchild, Hudson Knight of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Larry Chilton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Crystal and Jason Cannon in Van Alstyne, Texas, beginning at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 7th, 2023. The immediate family would like to give a special thanks to family, friends, and caregivers for the compassion and commitment they showed to Paula throughout the last few weeks.
