“I am leaving you with a giftpeace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” JOHN 14:27
Patsy Lorene Cooke “Grandma/P-Pat,” born in Texarkana, Arkansas, February 9, 1940, to Hiram and Myrtis Briggs. Patsy went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2022, peacefully, with her family by her side at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
Patsy grew up in Texas and Arkansas and graduated from Seminole High School in 1958. She then attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, where she met and married her husband of 61 years, Bobby Lynn Cooke of Bradshaw, Texas. After having four children, she attended Nursing school at Grayson County College, becoming a Registered Nurse in 1979. Patsy then pursued a nursing career at Wilson N. Jones hospital in Sherman, Texas. She worked in the ICU and ER departments where she loved serving her patients until retiring in 1990. Upon retirement, Patsy loved spending time with her eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She had a passion to travel, as well, and was happy to take any one of the “kiddos” along with her and dad. She loved playing Wa-Hoo, UNO, and other games at any time, day or night, with the family. She enjoyed playing the piano at home and at church. Patsy was the life of the party wherever she was. We can’t wait to see her in Heaven!
Patsy is survived by her husband, Bobby Lynn Cooke; her children, Jeff Cooke and wife Theresa of Savoy, Texas, Katie Breeding and husband Tim of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Quay Cooke and wife Kristi of McKinney, Texas, and Chad Cooke and partner Angel Hartline of Sherman, Texas; her grandchildren, Nicholas Cooke, Kelsey Ayers, Whitney Wilson, Nolan Cooke, Mason Cooke, Cayden Cooke, and Norah Cooke; her great grandchildren, Paxton & Tristan Breeding, Oliver & Piper Ayers, Everlee and Emersyn Wilson, and Elliot Cooke.
