Fall is a great time to cuddle up on the couch with a good book or a favorite movie. There are a few movies that I watch every fall even though I have seen them a number of times before. Some of them are family favorites and others are things that I love and now own. Owning a movie makes it easier to put it on the list, of course.

Movies I watch in the fall include, “You’ve Got Mail.” I just adore this movie. I can recite it almost word for word.

For completely different reasons, I also love “Sleeping with the Enemy” with Julia Roberts. I will confess I have a bit of a girl crush on Roberts and have seen every movie she has ever made. This and “Runaway Bride” and “Notting Hill” are my favorites.

Oh, wait, I left out “Mystic Pizza.” There those are my favorite Julia Roberts movies. Until she makes another one. I have to say I will probably add “Ben is Back” to that list. If you haven’t seen “Ben is Back,” get a copy.

OK, so leaving Julia Roberts behind, another movie I have to watch every year is “Practical Magic.” In fact, if I were making a movie list for Halloween itself, I would put “Practical Magic,” Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” and “Hocus Pocus” on it. I would also add, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” to that list. If Halloween fell on the weekend, which it will do again next year, I would add, “Monster House,” “Beetlejuice,” “Halloween” (the original) and “Scream” (the first three).

My fall list also includes “Cape Fear” (the 1991 version with Robert De Niro and Nick Nolte), “Goodwill Hunting,”“For Love of the Game,” “A Few Good Men,” “E.T.,” “Hide and Seek and “The Village.” In fact, I would just generally add all M. Knight Shyamalan’s movies to this list.
