San Antonio - Pastor Diana (Jones) Scruggs was born on July 12, 1961 in Mineola, Texas. She was a 1980 Sherman High School graduate. Diana received her Certificate in Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary, May 9, 1998 and was ordained as a minister shortly after. While in Grayson County, her service to the ministry expanded across all churches and affiliations, as she served under Late Elder Jack Castle. She was sent by God to San Antonio Texas to continue the mission and her ministry expanded to Pastoralship. As she continued to serve others, she later established and Pastored, Abundant Life Temple of Worship in San Antonio. Scruggs loved being a Pastor and afforded the opportunity to minister to all races. Pastor Scruggs loved to exercise and fellowship at the local YMCA. She could be seen encouraging others to "keep going" along their health journey. She loved her family and enjoyed life. She enjoyed swimming and being outside. After being in San Antonio for 17 years, on October 7, 2021, Diana was called home to glory to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and as with all her other callings, she answered... Pastor Scruggs lived her life in dedication to Christ's call. She was a great example of a woman that followed God, and her legacy will live on. Public viewing is being held Friday, October 15 from 10:00 a.m.- 6:00p.m. at Cravens Funeral Home There will be a Celebration of Life for Pastor Diana Scruggs on Saturday, October 16 at 11 a.m. at Harmony Baptist Church, 2111 E. Tuck St in Sherman, Texas. Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. The Scruggs Family is under the personal care of Cravens Funeral Home in Sherman. www.cravensfuneralhome.com
