Nelda Kretsinger Cooper
Denison - Nelda Kretsinger Cooper, 79 of Denison, Texas, left this world for her heavenly home on September 10, 2021. Nelda was born on December 28, 1941 in Sherman, Texas to Jack and Virginia Kretsinger. She graduated from Sherman High School in 1960. She attended East Texas State University where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. After graduating college, she moved to Lordsburg, New Mexico to begin her teaching career. It was there that she met her husband, Steve Cooper. They were married on February 13, 1967.
Nelda was a believer in Jesus Christ and accepted his offer of grace at an early age. She served God at Grace Bible Church in Sherman, Texas. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed collecting antiques, sewing, cooking, playing bridge and giving lots of advice. She lived with integrity and encouraged those around her to do the same. She was a generous giver, if ever she found someone in need.
She loved her family and always made sure they were well taken care of. Her grandchildren were a particular source of joy.
Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Virginia Kretsinger, and two sisters, Karen Samuel and Margaret Reynolds. She is survived by two sisters, LouAnn Booker of Sherman and Marilyn Kretsinger of Denison. She is survived by her husband, Steve Cooper, of Denison, TX, daughters Nora Bynum and husband Drue of Pottsboro, TX, and Keri Bedard and husband Paul of College Station, TX. In addition, she is survived by her grandchildren, Halle Bynum Langford and Clay of Dallas, TX, Cooper Bynum and Cole Bynum of Pottsboro, TX, and Brown Bedard of College Station, TX.
A memorial service was held at Grace Bible Church, Sherman, TX, on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10:00 am. The arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. The family welcomes donations to Grace Bible Church, Sherman, TX, to be used for the Lord's work, as an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers.
