Theresa Lee Jackey, of Durant, passed away May 2, 2020 at the age of 71. Theresa was born May 12, 1948 in Urbana, Ohio, to Earl Francis Lewis and Martha Mae (Baumgardner) Whedden.


She graduated from McClain High School in Greenville, Ohio, and attended college where she received her associates degree. She worked on an assembly line for Boeing Electronics in Dallas, where she retired. Theresa loved reading, crocheting and going to the casino and traveling with her sister. She moved to Durant six years ago coming from Arkansas.


She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Bryan Butcher, grandson Justin Waldroop, and a sister, Rose Baldwin.


Theresa is survived by her daughters Karri Hickman and husband, Randal, of Durant; and Marisa Keeland of Sherman, Texas; one sister, Marita Roberts, of Justin, Texas; three brothers, Thomas Lewis and wife, Elizabeth, of Dallas, Georgia; Earl Lewis and wife, Kathy, of Justin; and Robin Stanforth and wife, Mary, of Calhoun, Georgia; two grandsons, Tracey Hickman and fiancÚ, Melissa, of Coalgate, Oklahoma; and Zachary Hickman and wife, Angel, of Durant; one granddaughter, Shelby Butcher, and fiancÚ, Clark, of Ft. Worth, Texas; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


Her strength in relationship with God was unshakable. She believed all things in life were in his hands and she trusted her faith that he would provide and be there unconditionally.


Mathew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
