Assault public servant — Officers conducted a traffic stop Saturday on a car with defective equipment at the intersection of Vernon Holland Memorial Drive and N. Travis Street. After an investigation, officers learned that a passenger had an active emergency protective order for another passenger. The officers told the suspect he was under arrest. The suspect struck one of the officers in the face and then fled. The officers caught the suspect and arrested him for assault public servant and violation of protective order.

Criminal mischief — On Friday an officer responded to reports of several cars being vandalized in the 1800 block of W. Belden Street. A woman said that someone slashed her tires between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Two cars had also been painted and written on.


Assault — An officer responded to a domestic disturbance Friday in the 800 block of N. Crockett Street. A man had assaulted his wife, causing her bodily injury and fled the scene.


Retaliation — An officer responded to a disturbance Friday at an apartment complex in the 900 block of E. Wells Avenue. A man had verbally threatened the complex owner. The suspect had previously caused a disturbance at the office, and police had to be called. The officer made a report for retaliation.


Theft — Officers responded to a report of a stolen car Friday in the 3200 block of N. U.S. Highway 75. A woman had left her keys inside an unlocked car while she went inside a store. When she returned, her car was missing.


Criminal mischief — A man called police Friday to report criminal mischief in the 900 block of E. Lamar Street. Sometime between 10 p.m. on July 20 and 8 a.m. on July 21, someone used a rock to shatter the front door of the business. Police made a report for criminal mischief.


Criminal trespass — An officer responded to a report of suspicious activity Friday in the 1300 block of W. Washington Street. A woman said that two suspects were swimming in her backyard without her permission. The officer made a report for criminal trespass.


Burglary — Friday an officer responded to a report of a burglary at a store in the 400 block of E. U.S. Highway 82. A person had attempted to shoplift from the store and had previously been issued a criminal trespass warning for the property. The officer arrested the person for burglary of building.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated driver Friday in the area of S. U.S. Highway 75 and F.M. 691. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the car. The driver consented to standardized field sobriety tests. The officers arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated.


Burglary — Officers responded to a burglary Saturday in the 400 block of N. Harrison Street. A woman said that someone had stolen her TV.


Assault — A woman reported to police Friday that her husband assaulted her in the 1800 block of S. Walnut Street. Police could not locate the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded to a car accident Friday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and U.S. Highway 82. After an investigation, the officers arrested one of the drivers for driving while intoxicated.


Duty on striking unattended vehicle — On Saturday, an officer responded to a hit-and-run wreck in the 4800 block of Texoma Parkway. A car backed into another car and left without leaving necessary information.


Theft — An officer responded to a theft Saturday in the 1800 block of Loy Lake Road. A woman, who had three previous convictions for theft, had concealed items in her purse and left without paying. The officer arrested the woman for theft with two or more previous convictions.


Assault — An officer conducted a welfare check Saturday in the 1000 block of E. Pecan Grove Road. When the officers arrived, they learned that a suspect had assaulted another person. The victim had minor injuries. The officer made a report for assault causes bodily injury,


Violation of protective order — Officers responded to a disturbance Saturday to the 1200 block of Park Place. A woman said that her ex-husband was in front of her home, which was a violation of an emergency protective order. The suspect left before officers arrived. Officers made a report for violation of protective order and stalking.


Assault — An officer responded to a disturbance call Sunday in the 1600 block of E. Lamar Street. A woman said she had been assaulted, and the suspect fled. The officer made an assault report and the investigation is ongoing.


Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon — On Sunday an officer responded to an assault in the 900 block of S. Travis Street. A suspect had shot the victim in the chest with a pellet gun and then fled the scene.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer responded to a wreck Sunday in the 3900 block of N. U.S. Highway 75. A woman had struck a trailer. The police report said when the officer spoke to the woman, she was unsteady on her feet, her eyes were red and her breath smelled of alcohol. The woman performed field sobriety tests, and the results suggested she was intoxicated. The officer arrested the woman for driving while intoxicated.


Theft — An officer responded to a report of a theft Sunday in the 700 block of S. Hillside Drive. A man said he had let a friend stay with him a few nights at his house. The man said he arrived home one day and noticed that two welding helmets were gone. There were no signs of forced entry. The officer made a report for theft.


Aggravated robbery — An officer spoke with a man Sunday who said he was robbed in the 1600 block of LaSalle Drive. The man said that a suspect pointed a gun at him and stole his wallet and cell phone. The man changed his story more than once and "showed signs of deception," according to the police report.


Assault — An officer responded to an assault Monday in the 400 block of S. Crockett Street. A woman said she was walking by a house when she was confronted by a man she knew. The two got into an argument over money, and the man assaulted her. The officer made a report for assault.


Theft — On Monday, a man went to the Sherman Police Department to report a theft. Sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, someone removed the man’s phone from a table at a table in the 2700 block of N. U.S. Highway 75.


Criminal mischief — A woman went Monday to the Sherman Police Department to report criminal mischief. Sometime between 10 p.m. on Friday and 7 a.m. on Saturday, someone shattered the rear window of the woman’s car when it was parked in the 4500 block of Texoma Parkway.


Criminal mischief — Police took a report for criminal mischief Monday. A man said that sometime between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Saturday, he heard a loud noise outside his house, located in the 500 block of N. Carr Street. When he left his house, he found the rear windshield of his car had been shattered. He also saw a woman that he knows running away from the area.


Burglary — An officer responded Monday to a report of a car burglary in the 200 block of N. Andrews Avenue. Someone entered the unlocked car between 10 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday and took property.


Assault — Monday an officer responded to a disturbance in the 2900 block of N. U.S. Highway 75. A man said that a woman backed her car into him. The man did not have any visible signs of injury. The officer made an offense report.


Assault — A resident reported a fight between two men Monday at an apartment complex in the 300 block of S. Heritage Parkway. Officers responded and learned that two half-brothers began fighting after consuming too much alcohol. The brother who had been assaulted did not wish to file charges. The officer made a report for assault.


Possession of a controlled substance — Police responded to a report of drug-related property Tuesday in the 1400 block of E. Lamar Street. Police met with the home owner, who said he believed he found drugs in the house that had been left by other occupants of the home. An investigation revealed three pipes and pills.


Criminal trespass — An officer responded Tuesday to a report of men vandalizing property in the 1200 block of S. Dewey Avenue. The officer found two men in the area, inside a city park. One of the men was found to have a previous criminal trespass warning for all city of Sherman parks. The officer arrested the man for criminal trespass.


Assault — On Tuesday an officer responded to an assault in the 700 block of W. Pecan Street. A man had shoved and kicked his girlfriend several times. The officer made an offense report.
