Additional time to seek help is on the way for those who sustained damages during the spring flooding. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the time period for which the local recovery center will be open in Sherman.

Additional time to seek help is on the way for those who sustained damages during the spring flooding. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has extended the time period for which the local recovery center will be open in Sherman.


FEMA Spokesperson Nate Custer said the center Disaster Recovery Center located at 405 W. Washington in Sherman will be through Wednesday. The Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Then it will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Wednesday.


Custer said anyone from any county that was declared a disaster can to the center in Sherman for help. He said many other agencies will be set up there as well. "It’s kind of a one-stop shop," Custer said.


"It could be open even longer depending on the number of people who come out in the next few days," Custer said.
