UPDATE, 6:57 p.m. Aug. 1: The boil order has been rescinded.

ORIGINAL POST, July 31, 2015: BELLS — Bells water customers should boil their water before using it for the time being.

The city issued a boil order Friday morning due to a water leak on Broadway Street that has affected all residents using water provided by the city.

"To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking cooking and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to consumption. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes," the order says.

Customers can also purchase bottled water. For more information contact the city at 903-965-7744 or the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality at 512-239-4691.
