ROYSE CITY — Justin Bennett’s 25-yard touchdown run in overtime lifted Leonard to a 43-36 victory against Edgewood in a Class 2A Division II Region II bi-district game on Thursday night.

Bennett scored on the first play of overtime and Cody Crane recovered a fumble on Edgewood’s possession to seal the win.

Leonard (8-3) will face either Jacksboro or Blooming Grove in the area round next week.

Solomon Titus had a pair of rushing touchdowns, Ty McKinney caught a TD pass from Ryan Nixon and Dylan Monck and Bennett chipped in touchdowns for the Tigers.

Edgewood (8-3) scored twice in the final 3:30 before half-time, including an 87-yard interception return for a touchdown, to take a 22-15 lead.
