"Steel Magnolias" by Robert Harling is a story about how the bonds of female friendship can help individuals wade through life’s hardest times.

Written as a tribute to his sister Susan, playwright Robert Harling examines the relationships between a tight-knit group of southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor who witness the milestones in each other’s lives. The play is alternately hilarious and touching — and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness, which underlies the antic chatter of its characters.

In Chinquapin, Louisiana anybody who is anybody gets their hair done at Truvy’s Beauty Salon. With the help of her new assistant Annelle (played by Amber Harrington), Truvy (played by Meredith Terrell) dispenses the hottest hair dos and advice to southern ladies like rich curmudgeon, Ouiser (Sarah Macias), eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee (Jeannie Lyons), a local social worker, M’Lynn (Chessica Moon Burton), and her daughter Shelby (Reagan Martin), the prettiest girl in town, who is gearing up to marry a nice "good ole boy."

SCP is offering two different viewing formats with this production, you have the option to see it live or streaming from home.

Tickets are $18/adults, $12/students for both streaming and live performances.
