Sherman police


Assault - On June 6, Sherman Dispatch received a call in reference to a disturbance in progress in the 2900 block of N US Hwy 75. Officers arrived to a verbal argument in progress in the parking lot. Investigation determined that an assault occurred because of a racial slur. A report was completed for assault causing bodily injury.


Criminal trespass - On June 5, Sherman Police Department received a call in reference to a disturbance in the 2900 block of N US Highway 75. When police arrived the disturbance was no longer active. However there was a white male later identified exiting the property west of Ashley Furniture. He had a criminal trespass warning issued to him on April 21 and was arrested on site for Criminal Trespass and was transported to the Grayson County Jail.


Criminal trespass - On June 5, Sherman Officer responded to a disturbance call in the 2900 block of North US Hwy 75. Upon arrival of officers, it was discovered that several people were living on property that did not belong to them and have had criminal trespass warnings from the property in the past. One of the suspects identified was arrested for criminal trespass and was transported to the Grayson County Jail.


Criminal trespass - On June 5, Officers of the Sherman Police Department responded to the 2900 block of N. Hwy 75 in reference to criminal trespassing. The officers arrived and discovered the suspect was on the property posted "No Trespassing." He had previously been issued a criminal trespass warning. He was arrested for Criminal Trespass and transported to the Grayson County Jail for processing


Possession of a controlled substance - On June 5, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near N. Highway 75 and Us Highway 82 after receiving a call of a suspicious vehicle in the area. During the stop, less than 400 grams of THC edibles were located in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail.


Possession of a controlled substance - On June 5, an officer observed a gray passenger car leaving a known drug area. The officer later conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle for a traffic violation in the 1800 block of Texoma Drive. The officer spoke with both occupants and was later denied consent to search the vehicle. He deployed his K9 partner Gunner to conduct an open air sniff around the vehicle. K9 alerted to the vehicle and a search was conducted. Contraband was located on the suspects and inside the vehicle. A possession of a control substance penalty group 1 report was generated.


Public intoxication - On June 5, Sherman officers responded to a disturbance in the 2400 block Texoma Parkway. An individual involved in the disturbance was found to be intoxicated in a public place to the degree he was a danger to himself. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Grayson County Jail. A public intoxication report was generated


Assault - On Friday, Sherman Police were dispatched to the 2400-block Texoma Parkway in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, a male victim advised he was assaulted. The male was intoxicated and had injuries on his person. An offense report was generated.


Possession of a controlled substance - On June 6, Sherman officers conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 800 block Peachtree Place. The investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was in possession of illegal drugs. The drugs were seized, and a possession of a controlled substance report was generated.


Criminal mischief - On June 6, a Sherman Officer was dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of South Maxey in reference to criminal mischief. The victim advised her back window was broken by an unknown suspect. A report was generated for criminal mischief $100

Public intoxication - On June 5, Sherman officers responded to a disturbance in the 2400 block Texoma Pkwy. An individual involved in the disturbance was found to be intoxicated in a public place to the degree he was a danger to himself. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Grayson County Jail. A Public Intoxication report was generated.

Criminal mischief - On June 6, a Sherman officer was dispatched to a residence in the 1100 block of South Maxey in reference to criminal mischief. The victim advised her back window was broken by an unknown suspect. A report was generated for criminal mischief $100-750.


Theft - On June 6, an SPD officer was dispatched to the SPD Lobby to take a report of a theft that had occurred earlier that day. The victim advised his cell phone had been stolen within the last hour from a business in the 500 block of S Walnut. An offense report for theft was completed.


Burglary - On Saturday, a Sherman PD Officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of N. Loy Lake Rd in reference to a burglary. Upon arrival and investigation, it was determined that forced entry was made into a storage unit and miscellaneous items and electronic items were stolen. A burglary of a building report was generated and is under investigation.


Assault - On June 7, officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Taylor St. in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, officers determined a male had assaulted a female and fled the area prior to officers arriving. A report for assault causes bodily injury to a family member was generated.


Driving while intoxicated - On Sunday, Sherman PD Officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of N US Hwy 75 NB in reference to an intoxicated driver. Upon investigation, it was found the driver of the van struck a parked vehicle and was found to be intoxicated with children under 15 years of age in the car. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child under 15 years of age.


Driving while intoxicated - On Sunday, Sherman Police Dispatch received a call in reference to a major motor vehicle accident. The caller stated a single vehicle had rolled over and was on one side up against a tree. Officers were dispatched. The driver of the vehicle was the only one inside the vehicle when the crash occurred. It was also determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and a report was generated.


Assault - On Monday, Sherman Police Department received a call in reference to a possible disturbance in the 2400 block of Texoma Parkway. Officer responded to the area and located a male and his girlfriend. The female had obvious injuries to her face/head. The female and the suspect were both interviewed on scene and investigation determined that the suspect physically assaulted his girlfriend. He was arrested for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.
