On May 30, the Durant Police Department is scheduled to escort two of the teens killed in a crash on May 24 back to Durant from Texas.
Department personnel, along with members of the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Texas DPS and a pair of Calera police department motor units will voluntarily escort Hunter Ford and Jack Sarver from Collin County in Texas to Durant.
Representatives from Browns Funeral Home will leave Durant at 7 a.m. Saturday to pick up the teens and are expected to return to Oklahoma by 10 a.m.
Members of the law enforcement agencies will escort them to the Red River. Other organized units will join in the escort at the visitor center. It is expected they will travel U.S. Highway 69/75 NB to S. 9th, exit onto S. 9th and proceed west on W. Main Street to Browns.
Those wishing to show support for Ford and Sarver, as well as fellow Durant High School students Fernando Flores and Kaleb Foster who also were killed in the crash, are encouraged to do so along the travel route or at Browns Funeral Home before and after their arrival.
