The Denison Police Department received 86 calls for service between midnight Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday.
According to the call log released by the department, 13 of those calls were reports of suspicious activity, five of those calls were related to disturbances and 22 of those calls were motor vehicle related including traffic stops, erratic driving and motor vehicle assists.
There was one report of a suspected suicide, a missing persons report and three welfare check calls.
Two calls involved reported harassment and six calls were animal related reports.
Unlawful possession - On Wednesday, Sherman Police Department Patrol conducted a traffic stop at the 2100 block of Texoma Parkway in Sherman. The operator of the suspect vehicle was identified. The suspect was found to be in possession of a firearm. The suspect has previous felony convictions. The suspect was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by felon and a report was generated.
Theft - On Wednesday, a female complainant made telephone contact with an officer regarding a theft. The complainant stated an unknown suspect stole property located in the 400 block of West Pelton Street in Sherman Texas. The incident occurred on on May 21. A theft of mail under ten addresses report was generated
Theft - On Wednesday, a citizen reported that on the last day of school, March 9, his daughter had left a musical instrument in the 1500 block of Gallagher Road. School has not been in session since 3-9-20 due to COVID-19. The musical instrument cannot be found at the school and the citizen believes it was stolen. A report was made for theft of property between $750-$2,500 from a building.
Burglary - On Wednesday, officers were dispatched to 1700 block N Loy Lake Rd in reference to a burglary of building. Upon arrival, the victim stated her storage unit was broken into. Officers observed a broken lock and damaged door to the storage unit. Several items were stolen and a report for burglary of a building was generated and the investigation is ongoing.
Possession of controlled substance - On Wednesday, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of E. Odneal street. During the stop, officers obtained probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle. Between 4 grams and 200 grams of methamphetamine were located. A report was generated.
