Denison Independent School District will honor its graduating seniors Friday with a celebration pick-up parade.
Starting at 9 a.m. students will parade their vehicles as they travel around Denison High School on their way to pick up their final senior items.
“During this unprecedented time of the current public health crisis, Denison ISD and Denison High School have taken the necessary measures to ensure that all local, state and national guidelines are met regarding social distancing and the prevention of personal contact during this event,” the district said in a press release. “In an effort to create a safe environment, all seniors are required to stay in their vehicles and all volunteers will be required to wear protective items.”
During the parade, students will be able to pick up caps and gowns, honor cords, medal, personalized yard signs, graduation tickets, tassels, among other items.
“Denison PD will provide escort for the parade,” the district said. “To enhance the experience even more, the pick-up parade will feature a DJ playing graduation music, a 40-foot balloon arch for each car to drive through and DHS PTO and DISD Food Service Cookies for each graduate.”
