With the spring sports season cancelled by the UIL because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Herald Democrat is putting a spotlight on the seniors who had their high school careers abruptly come to an end.
College plans: Cosmetology.
Superstitions, rituals or traditions before or after competing: Always pray before and after every game.
Song or music that prepares you for competition: Any song.
Favorite subject/class: Anatomy & Physiology.
Favorite teacher and why: I have loved all my teachers, hard to choose.
Favorite coach and why: Coach Patton. She has taught me to see the best in anything and everything.
Best teammate and why: My teammates and I are all close.
Best high school sports memory: First person to hit a home run on the Tioga softball field.
Best high school non-sports memory: Being a part of the first PALS program in Tioga.
What you love about your sport: I love the dedication put forth from every athlete in whatever sport it may be.
Favorite sports movie and why: “Space Jam.” Because who doesn’t love Bugs Bunny?!
Describe the Tioga Class of 2020: Confident and unique,
Biggest lesson learned: Always own up to your mistakes.
Biggest influence in your life: My parents and grandparents.
Athlete you look up to: Jason Witten. He’s a great role model.
Reaction to the season being cancelled: Very upsetting, but things can only get better from here.
Message to your teammates: I’ve always been told play every game like it’s your last because you never know when your last game will be, and sadly it’s very true. Always give 100% in everything you do, it will pay off.
Message to your freshman self: Keep on keeping on!
Thing you won’t miss at all: Homework, of course.
Thing you will miss the most: I’m going to miss my teammates more than anything. I can’t wait to come watch everyone play next year!.
