With the spring sports season cancelled by the UIL because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Herald Democrat is putting a spotlight on the seniors who had their high school careers abruptly come to an end.

College plans: Continue education and softball career at Northwestern State.

Superstitions, rituals or traditions before or after competing: Always braid the left side of my hair and always get hype with the team.

Song or music that prepares you for competition: Old school stuff.

Favorite subject/class: Math.

Favorite teacher and why: Coach Byers, because he never made me do anything.

Favorite coach and why: Coach Sullivan, because I broke her nose and she still loved me after.

Best teammate and why: Brianna Yale. She is always positive and can put a smile on my face whenever.

Best high school sports memory: Making it so far my freshman year.

Best high school non-sports memory: Senior year homecoming.

What you love about your sport: The game takes away all the stress from my life and makes me the happiest because I get to be competitive.

Favorite sports movie and why: "A League of Their Own."

Describe the Tom Bean Class of 2020: Definitely the chill class.

Biggest lesson learned: Always love yourself.

Biggest influence in your life: My mom.

Athlete you look up to: Sis Bates.

Reaction to the season being cancelled: I was definitely heartbroken.

Message to your teammates: I love every single one of you and the bond that we had together this year was going to take us far. I know it.

Message to your freshman self: Do not let anyone get in your way. Keep playing with all your heart. It doesn’t matter what other people say. You know how good you are.

Thing you won’t miss at all: Definitely putting up the sound system.

Thing you will miss the most: The trust Coach Cherry always had in me to do my job.
