More than 50 Texoma spring sport senior athletes or managers were named academic all-state by the Texas High School Coaches Association for the 2019-20 academic year.


For girls soccer, Denison had three representatives — manager Abbie Rogers was on the first team, Kaitlyn Graham was on the second team and Christina Hernandez was honorable mention.


In boys soccer, Denison’s Keghan Edgette was a second-team selection.


Hernandez was also a second-team selection for girls track. Gunter’s Bri Carr was first-team for track and Channing Clement was honorable mention. Howe also had a pair of honorable mention picks with Kasie Segleski and Jamie Taylor while S&S’ Chelsea McDonald was honorable mention as well.


In boys track, Sherman’s Blake Almon, Micah Justice and Gage Smith were honorable mention choices. Gunter’s David Denton and Ryan Morrison were on the first team, Gabe Wells was on the second team and Peyton Lowe and Tristan Meadors were honorable mention. Whitesboro’s Markos Morales was a first-team selection and Montana Morgan was honorable mention.


In baseball, Denison had five second-team selections — Jack Condit, Cayden Earnhart, Garrett Poe and Zander Ramey and manager Jake Pendleton — while Van Alstyne also had five honored — Cam Montgomery was on the first team, David Terrill and Samuel Tormos were on the second team and Jake Carroll and Zach Smith were honorable mention.


Sherman’s Ethan Bedgood was on the first team and Cade Cole and Ryan Ortiz was named honorable mention.


Whitesboro’s Carson Hickman and Luke Langford were selected for the second team and Morgan was honorable mention.


Pottsboro’s Jake Williams was an Elite selection and Jasek Hooker was on the second team. Tom Bean’s Andrew Johnson and Blake Watson were chosen for the second team and Kaleb Wyrick was an honorable mention pick.


For softball, Denison’s Jacque Matthews was an Elite selection and Jaci Garvin was on the second team while S&S’ Lauren Jaresh was on the first team and Hannah Evans was on the second team. Sherman’s Ashley Boatright and Whitesboro’s Jocelyn Giron were both named honorable mention.


In girls tennis, Denison’s Madeleine Monsivais was named to the first team while Whitesboro’s Haylee Boren and Briana Chavez were on the first team, Paige Banks was on the second team and Addy Pollard was honorable mention.


In boys tennis, Denison’s Joseph Mallillin was an Elite selection and Jackson Brandt was on the second team while Whitesboro’s Caleb McCoy was picked for the first team.


In boys golf, Van Alstyne’s James Lopez was on the first team and Carroll was honorable mention. S&S’ Zach Richardson and Whitewright’s Lawson Moore were also honorable mention selections.
