A Whitesboro man was pronounced dead after a four-car collision on U.S. Highway 377 Wednesday evening.
In an emailed report, Texas Department of Public Safety Staff Sgt. Mark Tackett said the crash ocurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. and William Gray, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the report, a southbound vehicle was preparing to turn east onto Gunter Road when it was struck from behind. The initial impact forced the vehicle into the northbound lanes where it then collided with Gray’s oncoming vehicle.
Of the three other drivers involved, two sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Both were transported to Wilson N. Jones Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver who made initial contact in the series of collisions was not injured.
No other details were immediately available Thursday morning.
