Denison Police


Possession — An officer observed a male Oct. 9 acting strangely inside a local hospital. The suspect was arrested for outstanding city of Denison warrants and possession of a controlled substance.


Burglary of a habitation — A female victim stated Oct. 9 an unknown suspect entered her residence in the 1100 block of West Munson and took a Kindle and her purse.


Sherman Police


Theft of property — Officer spoke with loss prevention employees Oct. 11 at a business in the 600 block of Northcreek Drive. It was reported a known suspect had stolen a vacuum cleaner valued at $249 two days prior. The suspect was identified and found to be in the Collin County Jail for additional thefts. A felony theft report was generated.


Possession — An officer was dispatched Oct. 11 to the 1000 block of East U.S. Highway 82 in reference to narcotics activity. Upon arrival, it was learned a small zip lock baggy with crystal like substance was found in a patient’s room. The substance field tested for methamphetamine. A report was made for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.


Failure to identify/fugitive — Dispatch received a report Oct. 11 of a possible hit and run accident. The caller followed the suspect vehicle to the 300 block of South Loving Avenue. The driver of the suspect vehicle was the subject of an arrest warrant. He also intentionally gave officers a false date of birth. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and for failure to identify fugitive intent to give false information.


Theft of property — Dispatch received a call Oct. 12 to report a theft. The caller’s two road bikes were stolen from the 5100 block of North Travis Street. A report was filed for theft of property from $750-$2,500.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers stopped a vehicle Oct 12 in the 1600 block of West Lamar. The male driver admitted to drinking alcohol and was found to be intoxicated after an investigation was conducted. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Theft of property — An officer was dispatched Oct. 12 to the 1400 block of East Lamar in reference to a theft. The male victim reported his truck was stolen from the driveway during the night. A report for theft of property was completed.


Assault — An officer responded Oct. 13 to a local hospital room to speak with a female victim of assault. She stated her boyfriend assaulted her in the 2000 block of Princess Drive. The victim had minor injuries. A report was completed for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.


Assault — Officers responded Oct. 13 to an emergency room in the 2000 block of North U.S. Highway 75 in reference to an assault. The female victim advised she had been pushed into a wall, which caused her injury and pain. The incident occurred in the 900 block of Boone Drive. A report for assault causing bodily injury was completed.


Assault — Officers responded Oct. 13 to the report of an assault in the 1600 block of North Ross Avenue. Upon arrival, they learned a father and adult daughter were struggling over a door. The daughter was struck by the door during the struggle and was offended by the contact. A report for assault by contact was generated.
