An Anna man was arrested last week after he allegedly solicited sexual acts from two juveniles online.
In a social media post published Tuesday, Anna Police said a 44-year-old man was arrested on two counts of online solicitation of a minor on Oct. 8, following a joint investigation with the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.
Anna Police Lt. Pete Copin said an initial report was filed earlier this month after the Anna Independent School District contacted the department regarding an adult male who had made attempts to solicit multiple minors. On Oct. 6, Anna Police reached out to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and a formal investigation began with the agency’s child exploitation unit.
The man was subsequently identified as the male suspect and investigators determined that he allegedly solicited sex acts from two underage victims. CEU investigators executed a search warrant at his residence on Oct. 8.
Officials took the man into custody without incident and seized electronic devices from his home.
Anna Police declined to comment further and deferred to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office deferred to Anna Police.
The suspect remains in the Collin County Jail on $100,000 bond. It was unclear whether he had appointed an attorney to represent him in the matter.
