Sherman Police


Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched Sept. 28 to the 1900 block of E. Lamar in reference to criminal mischief. Upon arrival, they located a silver Nissan Armada with both driver’s side windows broken out. A report was generated for criminal mischief.


Criminal mischief — Dispatch received a call Sept. 28 to report criminal mischief in the 600 block of North Harrison. An unknown suspect broke two separate glass doors on buildings. A report for criminal mischief was completed.


Criminal mischief — Officers were dispatched Sept. 28 to the 200 block of West McGee in reference to criminal mischief. Their investigation revealed a shattered window in an SUV in the reporting party’s driveway. A report for criminal mischief was generated.


Found property — An officer was dispatched Sept. 28 to the police department lobby in reference to found property. A citizen had found several large denomination bills outside a business in the 800 block of East Lamar. The bills were counterfeit currency. A report was completed.


Driving while intoxicated — Dispatch received a call Sept. 28 to report a possibly intoxicated driver in the 2000 of South Crockett. Officers responded and located the suspect’s vehicle. The male driver was found to be operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. He was arrested.


Theft of property — Officers were dispatched Sept. 28 to the 600 block of South Ricketts in reference to a burglary of a residence. Their investigation revealed a theft occurred rather than a burglary. A laptop computer was stolen. A report for theft of property was filed.


Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop Sept. 29 in the 800 block of East King. The female driver was arrested for a possession of marijuana warrant. She was also found to be in possession. The marijuana was seized and the violation was added to the initial charge.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers conducted a traffic stop Sept. 29 on a vehicle in the 3100 block of Dauphine Drive. The male driver was found to be intoxicated with a four year old juvenile passenger in the vehicle. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child.


Burglary of a building — An officer responded Sept. 29 to the report of a burglary in the 1200 block of South Sam Rayburn Freeway. During the night, someone forced their way into the fenced compound of a business. A report for burglary of a building was completed. The investigation is ongoing.


Forgery — An officer was dispatched Sept. 29 to a business in the 200 block of South Sam Rayburn Freeway in reference to a forgery. The store clerk reported a male passed a counterfeit $100 bill, but left the store when the clerk called police. A report for forgery government/national instrument/money/security was completed.
