Denison Police

Burglary of a vehicle — A female victim stated on Sept. 7 she was contacted by the Sherman Police department about some of her property being located. When she checked inside her vehicle in the 1000 block of East Hull, she discovered her purse had been taken. There was also another vehicle burglarized in the 400 block East Hull. A Bible and cover were also taken, along with some cash. Officers are following up on leads.

Criminal mischief/theft — A male victim stated on Sept. 9 a man who he allowed to stay at his home a few nights broke a window out of the from of his house, took tools from inside the victim’s vehicle and stole the victim’s push mower. The investigation will continue.

Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop on Sept. 7 on a vehicle near the intersection of Houston and Texas. The male driver was arrested for an outstanding Cooke County warrant and possession of a controlled substance. A male passenger was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.

Theft — A male store employee stated on Sept. 8 he observed a female suspect swap merchandise boxes, placing more expensive merchandise into a box used for cheaper merchandise. The suspect then left the store without paying for the merchandise. She had previously been given a criminal trespass warning for all company property. The suspect was arrested for burglary of a building.

Sherman Police

Criminal trespass — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 9 to the 3600 block of Sam Rayburn Freeway East Control Road in reference to a man sleeping beside a business and refusing to leave. Upon officer arrival, the male was identified, and it was learned he had an active criminal trespass warning for the property. The suspect was arrested for criminal trespass and taken to jail.

Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop on Sept. 9 in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway. The male driver was found to have outstanding warrants, and a search of his person yielded methamphetamine. He was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail. A male passenger was also arrested for outstanding warrants and methamphetamine possession, and additionally for failure to identify as a fugitive.

Burglary — A male complainant made contact on Sept. 9 with the public safety administrator regarding burglary of a vehicle. He stated an unknown suspect made entry into his vehicle in the 400 block of Oxford Drive and stole property. A report was filed for burglary of a vehicle.

Theft — A male complainant made contact on Sept. 9 with the public safety administrator in reference to a theft. He stated a known suspect stole property from a residence in the 1600 block of La Salle Drive. A report for theft of property less than $100 was generated.

Criminal mischief — Sherman officers were dispatched on Sept. 8 to the 2000 block of South Montgomery in reference to criminal mischief. The female complainant stated an unknown person shattered a window on her vehicle. A report for criminal mischief was filed.

Theft of firearm — Dispatch received a call on Sept. 9 to report the theft of a firearm in the 1600 block of Hoard Avenue. The male caller stated his ex-girlfriend stole the firearm from inside his residence. Officers were dispatched, and an investigation was conducted. A report was generated, and the investigation is ongoing.

Assault — Officers were dispatched on Sept. 9 to the 300 block of North Archer in reference to a female caller reporting she had been pushed into the woods near her residence. Officers arrived and located the reporting party. Their investigation revealed an assault had occurred. A report for assault causing bodily injury/family member was generated.
