Grayson County Commissioner Jeff Whitmire announced the date for his precinct’s fall cleanup as Oct. 26 the from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“As always this event is intended for Precinct 1 residents to get rid of hard to dispose of items, such as old furniture and appliances or general junk that has been building up,” Whitmire said in a public notice.

The event is to help folks clean out the storage rooms and sheds, but it is not intended for normal household garbage.

“We will take up to four automobile tires, but we are not able to accept large tractor or truck tires,” Whitmire said.

They also will not accept hazardous materials such as chemicals.

“If you take the lid off latex paint and let it dry out, we can accept that,” he clarified.

The event is also not intended for contractors.
