No one was hurt Tuesday morning after a car and storage building briefly caught fire in a Sherman neighborhood.

Sherman Fire-Rescue crews and Sherman Police responded to a residence in the 600 block of E. Cherry street at approximately 11 a.m. after noticing black smoke in the area and fielding reports of a possible structure fire.

Sherman Police said the fire was contained to a backyard storage building and a vehicle kept inside. A cause had not yet been determined. No injuries were reported and no homes were damaged.

Area streets were temporarily closed while firefighters extinguished the flames and stationed emergency vehicles around the home.

The incident remains under investigation.
