Sherman Police


Possession/evading arrest — Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop Aug. 21 on a vehicle in the 1000 block of South Travis. The vehicle fled striking a road sign prior to eventually stopping in the 700 block of East King. A probable cause search was conducted, and the male driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance from one to four grams and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle.


Driving while intoxicated — Dispatch received a call Aug. 19 to report a driver who was possibly intoxicated. Officer were dispatched an located the vehicle in the 2200 block of Ross Avenue. The male driver was found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Forgery — A male complainant made contact Aug. 19 with the public safety administrator regarding a forgery. He stated a known suspect altered the amount on a check he received from the complainant without the complainant’s permission. The suspect then cashed the check at a business in the 500 block of North Sam Rayburn Freeway. A report was generated for forgery of a financial instrument.


Possession — Officers initiated a traffic stop Aug. 20 in the 700 block of South Rusk. The driver of the vehicle was found to be in possession of marijuana. An offense report was generated.


Assault — A male complainant stated Aug. 20 he was assaulted by two unknown males in the 4000 block of Quail Run Road. He had injuries consistent with his statement. A report was filed for assault causing bodily injury.


Assault — Officers were dispatched Aug. 20 to the 400 block of North Woods in reference to two females fighting outside a residence. Upon arrival, they learned the suspect had already fled in a vehicle. A report was generated for assault causes bodily injury.


Found property — A female reporting party made contact Aug. 19 with the public safety administrator in reference to found property. She stated she found property in front of a business located in the 2600 block of North Travis. A report was generated for found property.


Disorderly conduct/discharge firearm — Dispatch received a call Aug. 20 to report shots being fired in the 200 block of West Dexter. Upon officer arrival, a suspect vehicle was seen driving West on Dexter. Fired bullet casings were found and collected as evidence. A report was filed for disorderly conduct/discharge/display firearm.


Burglary of a vehicle — An officer was dispatched Aug. 21 to the 1200 block of East Jones in reference to found property. Upon arrival, it was found that a purse had been abandoned outside the reporting party’s residence. Additional investigation revealed the purse had been stolen out of a vehicle in the 1200 block of East Houston. A report was filed for burglary of a vehicle.


Denison Police


Possession/warrants — A vehicle was stopped Aug. 20 for a traffic violation in the 3000 block of Texoma Drive. A female was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and an outstanding city of Denison warrant. A male was arrested for outstanding city of Denison warrants.


Burglary of a habitation — A female complainant stated Aug. 21 someone entered her residence in the 600 block of Mundt Drive and took a wallet and its contents, a cell phone and a watch. Officers are following up on leads.


Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded Aug. 21 to the call of an erratic driver in the 2900 block of West Morton. The vehicle was located in a parking lot in the area, and the male driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
