Sherman Police are investigating after shots were fired in a neighborhood Tuesday night.

Sgt. Brett Mullen said officers responded to the the 200 block of West Dexter Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. after 9-1-1 dispatchers received multiple reports of gunfire in the area.

“Officers did locate multiple spent shell casings at the scene and in the street,” Mullen said Wednesday. “They searched the area and there was no evidence of bullet-impact points and no injuries were reported. At this time, it’s not believed that there was any intended target.”

Witnesses told police that a suspicious vehicle — a silver, four-door passenger car — left the scene immediately after the incident. No physical description on the suspect or suspects was available Wednesday.

The case remains under investigation. Those with information regarding the matter are encouraged to call the Sherman Police Department at 903-892-7290.
