Denison Police


Counterfeit currency — A complainant reported Aug. 12 a customer passed a counterfeit $20 bill to pay for a food order in the 2400 block of South Austin. Later, two individuals in a black vehicle passed a $100 bill to pay for a drink order. It is unknown at this time if the two incidents are connected.


Possession/warrants — Officers responded Aug. 12 to the call of a male using narcotics inside the restroom of a business in the 900 block of South Austin. The suspect was located at a nearby restaurant and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, outstanding parole warrant, outstanding Collin County warrant and failure to identify/fugitive from justice.


Burglary of a habitation — A complainant stated Aug. 12 some individuals entered a residence in the 500 block of East Washington that was being cleaned up to be rented. The intruders removed a wheel barrow, tools, ladder, Skil saw and weed eater. Officers are following up on leads.


Assault — Officers responded Aug. 12 to the call of a disturbance involving a male and female in the 600 block of West Brock. The female was holding a knife to male’s throat. She was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence.


Criminal mischief — A victim reported Aug. 12 someone attempted to shatter a window at a restaurant in the 2300 block of US Highway 75 South. Officers are following up on leads.


Driving while intoxicated — A vehicle was stopped Aug. 17 for a traffic violation in the 600 block of North US Highway 75. The female driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.


Burglary of a habitation — A female victim stated Aug. 17 someone stole several items of jewelry and a bicycle from her residence in the 1700 block of West Johnson. Officers will be following up on leads.


Sherman Police


Theft of property — A male complainant made contact Aug. 12 with the public safety administrator regarding a theft. He stated an unknown suspect made unauthorized transactions on a gift card he purchased. A report was filed for theft of property less than $100.


Criminal mischief — A female complainant made telephone contact Aug. 12 with the public safety administrator regarding criminal mischief. She stated an unknown suspect tried to make entry into a residence in the 5000 block of Eagle Ridge Trail and caused damage to the property. A report for criminal mischief less than $100 was generated.


Criminal mischief — A female complainant made telephone contact Aug. 12 with the public safety administrator regarding criminal mischief. She stated a suspect scratched or keyed her vehicle while it was parked at a residence in the 2100 lock of North Duke Drive. A report for criminal mischief from $750-$2,500 was generated.


Possession — An officer conducted a traffic stop Aug. 12 in the 100 block of Sunset Boulevard. The front passenger in the vehicle was in possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. The marijuana was seized and a report was filed at large for possession of marijuana less than two ounces.


Burglary of a vehicle — A female complainant made telephone contact Aug. 13 with the public safety administrator regarding a theft. She stated an unknown suspect made entry into her vehicle in the 1100 block of Yorkshire Drive and stole property. A report was filed for burglary of a vehicle.
