Duty on striking fixture — An officer was dispatched June 21 to the intersection of Taylor and Ricketts in response to a hit and run. A witness advised a male driver struck a tree with his car and then fled the scene. A second witness contacted police a short time later to advise the same suspect had struck a telephone pole with his car. The suspect was located at the intersection or Ricketts and Birge. The officers’ investigation showed the suspect was not intoxicated. The suspect was arrested for duty on striking fixture/highway landscape over $200 and driving while license invalid/with previous conviction/suspension/with no proof of insurance.
Assault — An officer responded June 21 to an assault in progress in the 2200 block of East Alma. The female victim advised her boyfriend struck her several times with a golf club, and she had visible injuries. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
Driving while intoxicated — Officers conducted a traffic stop June 21 in the 1700 block of South FM 1417. The male driver admitted to consuming alcohol prior to operating the vehicle. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Theft of property — A male entered the police department lobby June 21 to report his vehicle being stolen. He reported he had an event at his house, and at some point someone left in his car. The vehicle was located and returned to the owner. A report for theft was generated.
Forgery — A male complainant made contact June 21 with the public safety administrator in the police department lobby. He stated a known suspect forged a check in the 2000 block of Texoma Parkway. A report was generated for forgery of a financial instrument.
Theft of property — A female victim stated July 1 someone stole a television out of the living room of her residence on Smith Drive. Officers will be following up on leads.
Possession — Officers responded July 2 to the call of a woman doing drugs inside a vehicle in the 200 block of South Austin. The female suspect was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Burglary of a vehicle — A male victim reported July 3 an unknown suspect entered his unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Waterloo Lake Drive and took 30 CDs.
Stolen vehicle — A male complainant stated July 4 an unknown suspect stole his 2015 Dodge Charger, white in color with Texas license.
Assault — A female victim reported July 4 the father of her son came to her house in the 100 block of South Center Street after previously receiving a criminal trespass warning for that location. She stated he assaulted her by throwing her against a wall, choking her and trying to prevent her from calling 911. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving. A case will be forwarded to the Grayson County District Attorney’s Office.
Outstanding warrant — Officers responded July 4 to the report of a disturbance in the 2400 block of Caprice Avenue. A male suspect was arrested for an outstanding Grayson County warrant.
Assault — A female complainant reported July 4 her ex-boyfriend had her keys and would not return them to her. He chased her across the street in the 1200 block of Carla Drive, slapped her and pushed her up against a fence. The male suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence.
