Grayson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sherman man Tuesday on possession of child pornography charges. A written statement from the GCSO said the arrest took place at 6 a.m. in the 500 block of N. Burdette Ave in Sherman.
The statement said, “This warrant stimmed from a lengthy investigation into Internet child pornography.”
The 35-year-old man arrested was booked into the Grayson County Jail on ten counts of possession of child pornography and his bond was set at $750,000.
“This case is still under investigation when the investigation is complete charges (will be) presented to the District Attorney’s Office,” the statement said.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office is part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force program which is nationwide network made up of 4,500 federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. These agencies are continually engaged in proactive and reactive investigations and prosecutions of persons involved in child abuse and exploitation involving the internet. Task Force colleagues from the Grand Prairie Police Department assisted in the investigation and Sherman Police Department assisted with the search warrant.
