Assault — Officers responded June 8 to the report of a disturbance in the 1200 block of Big Cedar Lane. According to information gathered at the scene, a mother had assaulted her child by choking her, bending her child over the foot board of a bed, hitting her in the stomach and pushing her up against a wall, all while continuing to choke the child. The female suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence/impeding breath.


Theft — A female victim stated June 5 someone stole two necklaces from her residence in the 100 block of East Murray. Officers are following up on leads.


Warrants/evading arrest — Officers responded June 5 to the call of a disturbance in the 1800 block of SH 91 North. When they approached the male suspect, he fled on foot and was apprehended at an apartment complex in the 1400 block of SH 91 North. The suspect was arrested for two outstanding Denison warrants and evading arrest/detention.


Public intoxication — Officers responded June 5 to the call of a man urinating in the parking lot of a store in the 400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. The suspect was located and arrested for public intoxication.


Credit/debit card abuse — A female complainant stated June 6 someone removed her purse from her unlocked vehicle in the 1800 block of South Fannin and attempted to use her debit card online. Officers are following up on leads.


Assault/violation protective order — Officers responded on June 8 to a call of family violence in the 600 block of East Main. The female victim stated she was assaulted by her husband by having her arm grabbed and a purse removed, a piece of wood thrown at her and hitting her and being hit with a metal cup. The male suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence. On June 10, officers responded back to the same residence on a call of the suspect violating an emergency protective order. The suspect was located across the street from the residence inside a different residence and was arrested for violation of a protective order.


Driving while license invalid — An officer stopped a vehicle June 6 for a traffic violation at Morton and Tone. The male driver was arrested for driving while license invalid.


Assault — Officers responded June 6 to the call of a fight in progress in the 600 block of West Chestnut. The male victim stated he was assaulted by another male living with him by shoving him down and choking him. The suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily injury/family violence/impeding breath.
