Assault — Officers were dispatched April 21 to the 700 block of Valentine Drive to check the welfare of a female. Upon arrival, they learned a female had been struck in the chin with an infant swing by her husband, causing one tooth to chip. The husband was not on scene upon officer arrival. A report for assault causing bodily injury was generated.
Driving while license suspended — An officer conducted a traffic stop April 20 in a parking lot in the 3000 block of U.S. Highway 75. His investigation revealed the male driver was driving with a suspended license with previous convictions. A report was generated for the offense.
Forgery — Officers were dispatched April 20 to the 1400 block of Sam Rayburn Freeway in reference to an attempted forgery. Upon arrival, they learned a female had attempted to pass a counterfeit $50 bill. No property was obtained by the suspect. A report for forgery government/national instrument/money/security was filed.
Theft of firearm — An officer responded April 20 to the report of a burglary of a vehicle in the 2200 block of Heritage Parkway. Upon arrival, the officer learned a firearm had been stolen from a vehicle. Reports for burglary of a vehicle and theft of a firearm were generated.
Assault — Officers were dispatched April 21 in response to a disturbance in the 1800 block of West College Street. Upon arrival, they learned a husband and wife had gotten into a verbal argument and the husband allegedly slapped his wife. The wife did not have any injuries, but felt the contact to be offensive. A report was generated for assault by contact/family violence.
Possession — Officers conducted a traffic stop April 21 on a motorcycle in the 1500 block of East Lamar Street. During the traffic stop, they located methamphetamine on the male driver. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance greater than one gram but less than four grams.
Possession — Officers responded April 21 to the report of a suspicious person in the 200 block of Sunset Drive. Upon arrival, they spoke with a male suspect. A search of the suspect’s person revealed a vape pen containing THC oil. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Grayson County Jail.
Possession — Officers were dispatched April 21 to the 2100 block of Texoma Park in reference to a disturbance. A consensual search conducted on one of the male subjects revealed methamphetamine on his person. The suspect also had an outstanding city warrant. The suspect was arrested for the warrant and for possession of a controlled substance less than one gram.
Found property — A male reporting party made contact April 22 with the public safety administrator regarding found property at North Elliott Avenue. The reporting party stated he found personal property while picking up trash in Sherman. A report for found property was generated.
Driving while intoxicated — An officer conducted a traffic stop April 23 on a vehicle for failure to signal a turn. The female driver exhibited signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the traffic stop. Standardized sobriety tests were administrated revealing multiple signs of intoxication on the part of the driver. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
