Assault — A female victim, 84, reported April 23 she was assaulted by a relative in the 2900 block of Village Green Circle during a dispute about another family member. The victim stated the suspect grabbed her phone out of her hands, causing minor injuries. The suspect was not on scene when officers responded. The investigation will continue.
Criminal mischief — A complainant stated April 18 someone damaged a roof on a residence in the 2900 block of Village Green Circle by cutting the shingles with some type of blade. Officers are following up on leads.
Fraud — A male complainant stated April 18 an unknown suspect(s) used his personal information in the 400 block of MLK to open a fraudulent on PayPal account.
Criminal mischief — A female complainant reported April 18 two juveniles threw eggs at her house in the 100 block of South Scullin and then ran off. The investigation will continue.
Burglary of a vehicle — A female complainant stated April 21 an unknown suspect(s) entered her unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of West Florence and took items from her purse, which was inside the vehicle.
Stolen vehicle/assault — A female complainant reported April 23 a male she knows took her vehicle from the 1900 block of West Morton without permission. The suspect lives with a relative and it was discovered that the relative (victim) had gotten into an altercation with the suspect the day before and both the victim and suspect had assaulted each other, causing the female victim to have minor injuries. The investigation will continue.
Driving while intoxicated — Officers responded to a call April 23 of a possible intoxicated driver in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 500 block of U.S. Highway 75 North. The vehicle was located, and the female driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated with open container.
Assault — An officer was dispatched April 20 to the 2900 block of U.S. Highway 75 in reference to a possible assault. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with two males involved. One of the males was assaulted in the parking lot by an unknown male. A report for assault causing bodily injury was generated.
Possession — An officer responded April 20 to a report of found property in the 2800 block of Fallon Drive. A shipping service had located a package containing marijuana. The company turned the package over to Sherman Police for further investigation. A report was filed for possession of marijuana.
Assault — An officer responded April 20 to the report of an assault in the 100 block of Vietnam Veterans Parkway. The reporting party advised a male had thrown a female victim to the ground in a parking lot. The victim stated she had fallen out of a vehicle and had not been assaulted. The victim had visible injuries. A report was filed for assault causing bodily injury/family member. The investigation is continuing.
