Denison Police said a naked man was arrested over the weekend after he reportedly threw rocks at passing cars and ran from responding officers.
In an emailed incident report, the department said officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Cathey Drive at 10 p.m. last Saturday after a witness called 911 to report the bizarre scene. Lt. Mike Eppler said officers arrived and attempted to subdue the man, but he fled on foot.
“The chase didn’t last long and he was taken into custody,” Eppler said. “He was charged with evading arrest or detention and public intoxication.”
Eppler said, to his knowledge, no injuries were reported and no vehicles were damaged. It was unclear what type of substance may have resulted in the man’s alleged intoxication.
A search of Grayson County’s online jail records showed the man remained in custody Tuesday, but no bond information was listed.
“Always be sure to report suspicious activity,” Eppler said as advice for the public when it comes to instances like this one.
